Fibre Optic’s

a2sat are pleased to announce that we can now offer fibre optic cable installations for all community systems, large and small.

 

The beauty of using fibre optic cable is that we can take the signal, over very long distances and without any signal loss. So for example, whatever signal we have at the dish, we will have at destination, which theoretically, could be up to 10km away!!

 

In the past, to run a copper coax community system we would have had to use, four heavy duty copper on copper cables, which keep the horizontal and vertical high and low signals separated, this is also quite cumbersome to handle and requires alot of labour to install.

 

This type of system works very well! however due to the fact copper cable is used, the signal loss can become a real problem, and its not too long before the loss is so great, the signal at the furthest point away from the source, begins to suffer.

 

With fibre optic cable, we only have to lay one 3mm armoured fibre cable and optical splitters and that’s it. All the signals are then carried within the one single fibre optic and most importantly without any real loss.
